Purpose
The project is designed to:
- Improve the flood control channel to meet current design standards and increase channel capacity to properly convey water during a severe rain event.
- Decrease scour and sediment transported to Upper Newport Bay, and;
- Provide comprehensive habitat mitigation for all upstream channel system improvements

Location
The Santa Ana-Delhi Channel project area is located between the Upper Newport Bay to the south and the intersection of Irvine Avenue and Mesa Drive to the north.
