OC Loop Bikeway Segments O,P,Q

BACKGROUND

  • 2.7 mile new bikeway along the Coyote Creek Channel closing the gap between the Coyote Creek Channel in Cerritos to La Mirada Boulevard in Buena Park.
  • Segment O has grade separated crossings at Valley View Avenue and Artesia Boulevard; Segment P has grade  separated crossings at Firestone Boulevard, I-5 and the  rail tracks; and Segment Q has grade separated  crossings at the both rail tracks and Stage Road.
  • Walking and biking connection to four parks and three schools within 1/2 mile of the bikeway.
  • Completes a critical missing segment of the 66-mile OC Loop connecting the foothills to the beach.

PURPOSE & BENEFITS

  • Bridges the 2.7-mile gap in existing Coyote Creek Bikeway
  • Provides safe, off-road bikeway connections: west to the beach, north to Santa Fe Springs and east to La Habra.
  • Connects the adjacent neighborhoods to work, school and regional amenities
  • Provides safe crossings of freeways, waterways, and arterial roadways.
  • Supports active lifestyles and strategies to protect air quality
  • Dedicated Off-Street Path
  • Improves Access to Jobs, Parks, and Schools
